The ordinary has its share of rhythm, balance, and proportion even when they do not shine through glistening surfaces.
Throughout time, passages render their surfaces trite, weathered by climate exposure, and bland geographical placement that elevated them from conventional to shapes with surprising qualities.
They are steadfast sentinels to decades of occupations from nationals who made them their abode as economic conditions properly arose to foster their acquisition. Foreigners and immigrants equally made them their living space. Surprisingly, they have withstood the ravages of many bitter winters and scorching hot summers. Their structural stamina and craft-savvy construction have made them impervious to decay.
They were laid out to conform to an economic upswing and a population’s expansion needs. The houses were a popular dream accommodation from a yearning to slow ownership of their future. In later years, many dwellings provided an equity usufruct to allow their owner to move out of the city and begin a similar launch. The houses continued as a springboard of slightly more auspicious moves. Nevertheless, as a structure, they still house with updated modifications comparable dream to many.

Their appeal lies in their subtle details and economy of design. Most bear a half-arch entry with a pitched roof supported by bricks and stone-fronted details. In their block, most are similar except for later Bungalows. Attics are a common space later changed to allow for the up flow of larger family sizes. Yet they still are a spectator to cyclical moving out.

Interesting details warrant a short read. However, my compelling motive to present the foreword is to link the common with the visual impact that weather brings to the recording observer.

The relationship is short-lived as the weather fluctuates from a sunny, cloud-laden bright sky to a somber grey sky. It is a visual metaphor for our life's transitory instances and the vicariously lived events. The metaphors are visually palatable and transient because they produce a fleeting link.

As photographs they are imbued with transient recording details. As recording mementos, they are valuable to the one pressing the camera shutter since the recording comes to set standstill observations that others may have witnessed but failed to render it for permanence. At best it is a long shot to elicit contemplation of the expressed connection
